In December of 2018, Bandai Namco announced that they had teamed up with British developer Slightly Mad Studios to work on a brand-new entry in the popular Project CARS series of racing video games; unfortunately, not much else was shared at the time.
Some players may be familiar with Slightly Mad Studios because it is the same developer that worked on Electronic Arts' Need for Speed: Shift in 2009, so fans of the Project CARS series were actually, and legitimately excited to knwo that the studio was developing the new title.
On top of this, Slightly Mad Studios CEO Ian Bell revealed that Project CARS 3 would be spiritual succesor to Need for Speed: Shift, so it looked like the developer had already great plans for Bandai Namco's new racing title.
Now Bandai Namco has finally released an official trailer for Project CARS 3 that gives players a better idea of what to expect from this new entry in the series, and the reception from fans is actually more mixed than expected.
The reveal trailer for Project CARS 3 has a bunch of dislikes from fans of the series, and comments reveal that their disappointment comes from the fact that this new game looks more arcade than the previous games in the Project CARS series.
With all that said, Slightly Mad Studios had already made it very clear that Project CARS 3 would be a spiritual successor to Need for Speed: Shift. Plus, we still haven't really seen any proper gameplay, so it is best to wait until the developers reveal more details about the game.
