We may have some sour news for those anticipating the release of Star Wars Episode I: Racer for the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch, since developer Aspyr has revealed that the game will not be releasing tomorrow, on the 12th of May, as initially intended.
As just revealed by developer Aspyr — the studio that has been porting classic Star Wars titles to modern consoles — Star Wars Episode I: Racer will not be releasing tomorrow because of the Coronavirus pandemic that has forced developers to work from home.
Unfortunately, the developer doesn't give us a tentative release date for Star Wars Episode I: Racer, so players will have to keep waiting for more official announcements in regards to the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch port. The did, however, reassure that they will be updating players as soon as possible.
Star Wars Episode I: Racer was initially revealed to release for the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch after a Nintendo Direct Mini presentation that was streamed in March, and it is a proper port of the original game that released for the Nintendo 64 in the late 90s; based on that one scene from the Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace movie.
Take the controls as Anakin Skywalker, or any one of over 21 Podracers, and feel the full-force blast of two massive jet engines at simulated speeds of up to 600 mph. Rein in a turbine-driven chariot through 8 spectacular worlds. How far will you go?
Star Wars: Episode I Racer is expected to release for the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch soon.
