With the release of Microsoft's Xbox SeriesX|S and Sony's PlayStation 5 this week, Psyonix has revealed that their critically acclaimed, andinsanely popular "SocCar" game Rocket League will not only be compatible with the next-gen consoles, but it will also be getting some enhancements.
First things first, Psyonix reveals that players' Rocket Pass progress and inventory will be transferrable to any of the next-gen consoles they will be playing Rocket League on — made possible via the Epic Games Account — allowing them to save their progress on their current-gen platform and pickup right where they left off on their new console.
Rocket League's loading times will be significantly faster on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, Psyonix has confirmed, whilealso revealing that splitscreen performance has also been improved on Microsoft and Sony's new consoles; promising that even more enhancements are on the way.
In terms of graphical enhancements, Psyonix confirms that both the PlayStation 5 and Xbox SeriesX will be able to run Rocket League at 4K resolution at 60FPS in HDR at launch, and that later this year they will be releasing a new update that will give players the option to play in "Video Quality" or in "Performance" mode.
The Xbox Series S version of Rocket League will also get some graphical enhancements, but it will not be displayed in 4K reoslution due to the console not featuring 4K. With that said, Xbox Series S players should still expect solid 60FPS with HDR but in 1080p.
If you want to know the specifics of what these graphical enhancements will offer depending on which next-gen console you'll be playing Rocket League on, be sure to check out Psyonix's new blog on their official website for the game, which you can easily visit by clicking right here.
