In March of this year, developer Aspy announced that they would be re-releasing the classic Star Wars: Episode I Racer for the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. The announcement was made on the same day that Star Wars: Jedi Knight - Jedi Academy was made available.
Aspyr had already released Star Wars: Jedi Knight II - Jedi Outcast in September of last year, and the game was very well received by longtime fans of the original, as well as new players who had yet to embark on this adventure — so players knew that the game was in great hands.
Unfortunately, Aspyr announced that Star Wars: Episode I Racer was going to be delayed, and would no longer be releasing on the 12th of May as initially intended; this was revealed to fans a day before the game was supposed to have launched — which didn't bode well with players.
Today we have some great news for fans who were disappointed by Aspyr delaying the game without notice, since the developer has revealed that Star Wars: Episode I Racer will finally become available next week — launching for the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch on Tuesday the 23rd of June.
Ports like the ones mentioned above have had great success amongst fans of the Star Wars series, and it would be great to see the developer porting even more classic Star Wars games that are now difficult to come by. We'll just have to keep waiting and supporting these releases for something like that to happen, but it would be great if it did.

Star Wars: Episode I Racer will release for the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch on Tuesday the 23rd of June.
