According to a vast majority of critics, Ubisoft successfully improved upon
The Crew's mistakes, but
The Crew 2 is still an imperfect product. Seemingly, in pursuit of doing so many different things right, the sequel struggles to do anything particularly well. The fact that TC2 is mainly a single-player game doesn't help, as it had no PvP at launch providing players with no reason to team-up with friends.
This situation might change with the upcoming launch of
Demolition Derby that is the second free update brought to the open world motorsports game, and will be available to all
The Crew 2 players on December 5. According to Ubisoft, the expansion will introduce players to "
100% destructible vehicles," which is a welcome addition, as
The Crew 2's damage model has been far from ideal so far.
While
Demolition Derby will feature two never-before seen arenas, the update will also be adding brand new events to existing disciplines, namely Drift, Alpha Grand Prix and Rally Cross. Last but certainly not least,
Demolition Derby will also bring PvP to
The Crew 2 allowing up to 8 players to compete against each other in a free-for-all system, across all four motorsports families. Take a look:
