According to the majority of critics, Ubisoft has successfully improved upon The Crew's mistakes, but The Crew 2 is still an imperfect product. Seemingly, in pursuit of doing so many different things right, the sequel struggles to do anything particularly well. The fact that TC2 is mainly a single-player game doesn't help, as it has no PvP at launch and provides no compelling reason to team-up with friends.
During this week's Ubisoft financial conference call, Chief Executive Officer Yives Guillemot and Chief Financial Officer Alain Martinez revealed plans for The Crew 2. Martinez confirmed that TC2 is behaving in terms of activity in line with the previous game, while digital sales are actually higher. Ubisoft thinks that The Crew 2 is "fantastic," but realizes that some changes have to be made and new content will be shown at Gamescom. Guillemot also mentioned significant expectations in the next two to three years.
The game, developed by Ivory Tower, is said to receive regular updates bringing more content to the title on a regular basis. Each 3 months, a new Live Update will introduce new activities and disciplines starting this September with the first Live Update titled Gator Rush, and all of these major updates will be free, as Ubisoft will also give you an opportunity to check out two new shiny vehicles every month.
