After Kingdom Hearts III concluded, fans realized that for every question answered, two more questions arose. While some of those questions were responded to with the Re: Mind DLC, not everything came to light.
While the main franchise installment completed the first leg of this journey, fans found themselves in another rut of countless game additions that help to fill in the gaps of the story between Kingdom Hearts III and Kingdom Hearts IV. After the initial DLC, the next reveal was the smartphone game Kingdom Hearts: Dark Road, which is coming this month.
However, in one of the biggest surprises of the franchise, there is another installment in the form of a rhythm game! Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory puts players in an almost Temple Run Esque gameplay style, where players run through different scenes and worlds of the franchise, playing as Sora, Donald, and Goofy (with the assistance of other characters).
To announce the reveal, a new trailer was shown that revealed the trio taking on hordes of heartless in time to the beat. The game features over 140 songs Disney properties and from areas such as Destiny Islands, the Olympic Coliseum, and even the more melancholic tunes, such as Xion's theme. There will also be four separate play modes and online battles!
The trailer even has a secret surprise for fans, in the end, to encourage the importance of the game to the overall story. Make sure to share your thoughts on the new installment in the usual spot, and don't forget to check out the new trailer!
The new game, Melody of Memory, will feature rhythm elements as players travel throughout several locations from previous Kingdom Hearts games. The footage features Sora, Donald and Goofy running alongside a track shaped like a sheet of music and fighting the Heartless and other beasts.
Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory is coming to PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch in 2020!
