KOEI TECMO America and developer Gust have officially announced that the next entry in the beloved Atelier franchise, Atelier Resleriana: The Red Alchemist & the White Guardian, will launch on September 26, 2025, for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and Windows PC via Steam. A new developer video was also released alongside the announcement, offering fans a first look at the game’s mechanics, characters, and enchanting world. Check out the first look video for the game down below:
A New Chapter in the Atelier Series
This latest installment in the Atelier series introduces two new protagonists:
Rias Eidreise - a talented young alchemist and adventurer.
Slade Clauslyter - a mysterious man with the power to open dimensional pathways.
Together, they explore the continent of Lantarna to uncover the truth behind the strange disappearance of the people of Hallfein. Their quest blends emotional storytelling with rich, classic gameplay bringing the cozy and magical tone fans expect from the franchise.
Notably, Atelier Resleriana will feature returning characters from previous Atelier titles, including Sophie Neuenmuller, Totori Helmold, Razeluxe Meitzen, and Wilbell Voll-Ersleid. These familiar faces will aid the protagonists throughout their journey, strengthening the bond between new and longtime fans of the series.
Exploration, Dimensional Paths, and Randomized Dungeons
Exploration remains a key feature, allowing players to travel across different biomes in various weather and time-of-day conditions. Players will also face procedurally generated multi-level dungeons, known as Dimensional Paths, where enemy difficulty, layout, and loot will change each time.
These paths offer an opportunity to gather rare ingredients, battle stronger monsters, and experience replayable exploration, deepening the core loop of alchemy, combat, and discovery.
Strategic Turn-Based Combat and Timeline Mechanics
Combat in Atelier Resleriana incorporates a strategic timeline command system, where players can create parties of up to six characters (three front-line and three back-line).
Key mechanics include:
Action Points: Manage your team’s energy for attacks and item use
Timeline Shifting: Manipulate turn order to gain advantages
Unite Attacks: Trigger powerful special moves with coordinated timing
This system adds depth to battles while maintaining accessibility for returning and new players alike.
Innovative Synthesis System
Alchemy fans can look forward to the new Gift Color Synthesis system. During item creation, players must connect the “Gift Colors” of ingredients, which affects both the item’s properties and available traits. Depending on who assists Rias during synthesis, the resulting item may receive bonus effects or entirely new traits.
Players can also run Rias’s shop, selling crafted items to earn money that contributes to the development and reconstruction of Hallfein. Town progression will unlock new recipes and expand the game’s main story arc.
Key Details and Early Purchase Bonus
The game will be fully offline, with no online connection required
A PS4 version will release only in Japan
Japanese voice acting with English text support will be available globally
Early purchasers (within two weeks of launch) will receive:
- “Activewear Adventuring Set” for Rias and Slade

Atelier Resleriana: The Red Alchemist & the White Guardian is shaping up to be one of the most ambitious and emotionally resonant entries in the franchise. Whether you’re a veteran alchemist or new to the Atelier world, this September's release promises a blend of nostalgia, new mechanics, and unforgettable characters.
