According to a recent tweet on the official
Code Vein Twitter account, publisher Bandai Namco will be announcing the slasher's release date and debuting a brand new trailer for the
Dark Souls-inspired RPG title on June 4 at 7 pm PT. The most recent rumor says that
Code Vein will hit the stores in July.
While Code Vein seemingly tries to please fans of the
Dark Souls series, its art-style is quite similar to the
God Eater series. This comparison is not that far-fetched, as Shift, the studio that's currently working on
Code Vein also delivered
God Eater Resurrection back in 2015. It's worth noticing that
Code is directed by Hiroshi Yoshimura, the artist who has also helmed the original
God Eater.
Code Vein is already available to pre-order on
Amazon for those who don’t want to miss out on getting their copy first, available for PS4 and Xbox One. Though with only a few days until E3, we we can't help but wonder if Bandai Namco has anything else up their sleeves that can surprise us.
In the not too distant future, a mysterious disaster has brought collapse to the world as we know it. Towering skyscrapers, once symbols of prosperity, are now lifeless graves of humanity’s past pierced by the Thorns of Judgment. At the center of the destruction lies a hidden society of Revenants called Vein. This final stronghold is where the remaining few fight to survive, blessed with Gifts of power in exchange for their memories and a thirst for blood.
