Code Vein is one of those titles that had fans eagerly awaiting for its release; pretty much since it was announced, actually. While development took more than the developers themselves anticipated, the long-awaited title finally launched last month.
The game is part of the Souls-like genre, although it changes things up a bit by embracing a more anime art style, unlike other titles like
Bloodborne and the
Dark Souls series; giving
Code Vein a very unique feel that makes it stand out when compared to the aforementioned games.
While
Code Vein has already been out for about a month, Bandai Namco has recently released an accolades trailer for the game — which shows off some of the near-perfect scores it's been getting since launch; scores that most people, who have already gotten the chance to play the game, agree with.
Check it out:
In the not too distant future, a mysterious disaster has brought collapse to the world as we know it. Towering skyscrapers, once symbols of prosperity, are now lifeless graves of humanity’s past pierced by the Thorns of Judgment. At the center of the destruction lies a hidden society of Revenants called Vein. This final stronghold is where the remaining few fight to survive, blessed with Gifts of power in exchange for their memories and a thirst for blood.
Code Vein is currently available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
