Bandai Namco has unveiled a brand-new character class for its upcoming title Elden Ring: Nightreign. The Raider, the sixth officially revealed Nightfarer, made his debut in a cinematic character trailer this week—bringing a heavy dose of brute strength and battlefield tenacity to the expanding roster. Check out the trailer for the Raider down below:

Described as a warrior who “stands resolute in the chaos of battle” with “a heart that knows no fear,” the Raider is a tank-like powerhouse. Bandai Namco teases the Raider as a force capable of dealing massive damage while enduring brutal assaults, making him a valuable frontline asset in any adventuring party. Though exact gameplay mechanics haven’t been fully detailed, his class appears tailored for those who enjoy close-quarters combat and absorbing enemy pressure.

The Raider is the sixth of eight planned Nightfarer classes. With just two more classes yet to be unveiled before the game’s release, fans can expect additional reveals in the coming weeks as Nightreign gears up for launch. The lineup so far offers a balanced mix of melee, ranged, and magic-based options, and speculation is already mounting over what surprises the final two classes may hold.

Elden Ring: Nightreign is set to release on May 30, 2025, and will be available for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC. The expansion builds on FromSoftware’s critically acclaimed open-world RPG, continuing the saga with fresh lore, new characters, and presumably, another collection of brutal boss fights.

Pre-orders are now live for three editions of the game:

  • Standard Edition – $39.99

  • Deluxe Edition – $54.99 (includes digital bonuses)

  • Collector’s Edition – $199.99 (comes with a yet-to-be-revealed DLC and likely physical collectibles)

As the countdown to May 30 continues, excitement is mounting. With powerful archetypes like the Raider joining the fray, Nightreign is shaping up to be a must-play addition for Elden Ring veterans and newcomers alike.

Stay tuned as we await the final two Nightfarer class reveals and more surprises ahead of launch. If you have not already seen it, check out the previously announced archer class the Iron Eye down below:

The Iron Eye stands out with its mobility and precision, finally giving ranged combat the spotlight it deserves in a FromSoftware title. Players who participated in the earlier beta didn’t get a chance to try out the archer class, but the new trailer showcases exactly what makes the Iron Eye so formidable. Not only can this Nightfarer stagger bosses with well-placed back shots, but they can also execute devastating critical hits by dashing in for cinematic arrow finishers—a dream come true for anyone looking for a Legolas class to play in a Soulslike setting.
