Dark Souls Remastered was released on the 25th of May for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, as the Nintendo Switch version required more time and was pushed back to the 19th of October. Thankfully, the unforgiving title is currently available on all major platforms, and while the Switch edition features some performance issues, it's still an excellent port of a game that launched seven years ago.
According to From Software,
Dark Souls Remastered runs at 1080p and 30 fps when docked, and 720p and 30 fps when undocked. Maximum number of players that can take part in online multiplayer have been increased from 4 to 6, and online play is now supported by dedicated servers rather than P2P. These are all excellent improvements that make the acclaimed title slightly better.
Nintendo UK has released a special accolades trailer that focuses on the universal praise the title's receiving from the biggest outlets. While the developer still hasn't solved the cheater issue of the Steam version, playing on Nintendo Switch seems like the best way to play the title (especially if you're interested in interacting with other players), so be sure to check out the trailer down below:
