Earlier today, publisher THQ Nordic and developer Gunfire Games (former Vigil Games, creators of the first two Darksiders games) announced that the third entry in the slasher series heavily inspired by The Legend of Zelda, Metroid and Castlevania games. This time, gamers will have a chance to embark on a journey with Fury, who's on her quest to defeat the Seven Deadly Sins and free her brother, War.
The third of the Four Horsemen can transform herself during the gameplay, possessing new weapons, attacks, and traversal abilities. The game's official website reveals that Fury will transform in four different identities - THQ has revealed two of them so far, and one of them is the basic Fury who must rely on her whip and magic channeling her inner Dark Prince from Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones.
The Flame Hollow envelops Fury in a brilliant orange blaze and arms her with two deadly burning flails. These powerful weapons offer a new set of attacks and charging the burning energy within them executes an explosive finishing move, devastating nearby foes. Using this Hollow opens up a number of previously inaccessible paths - Fury can pass through fire and lava unscathed, or perform a fiery high jump to launch herself to new areas. Gunfire promises that more updates will come in the near future.
Nordic has also released (via PlayStation Blog) a batch of new Darksiders III screenshots. Take a look:
Return to an apocalyptic Earth in Darksiders III, a hack-n-slash Action Adventure where players assume the role of FURY in her quest to hunt down and dispose of the Seven Deadly Sins. The most unpredictable and enigmatic of the Four Horsemen, FURY must succeed where many have failed – to bring balance to the forces that now ravage Earth. Darksiders III is the long-anticipated, third chapter in the critically-acclaimed Darksiders franchise.
Darksiders III will be available for PlayStation 4 , PC and Xbox One on November 27, 2018.
