During today's Xbox Games Showcase presentation, Microsoft and Square Enix took the opportunity to surprise fans of the Dragon Quest series by revealing that Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age - Definitive Edition is finally coming to Xbox One.
Microsoft confirms that the definitive edition of Dragon Quest XI will also be available throughXbox Game Pass and PC(Windows 10), and will be releasing alongside the Xbox One version on Friday the 4th of December; becoming the first game in the Dragon Quest series to ever release on Xbox.
Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age - Definitive Edition is, as the name very appropriately suggests, the definitive version of the game, which includes both an orchestrated and original version of the soudntrack, the whole game in 16-bit, all lines of dialogue now in Japanese, and the mandatory photo mode.
While the original Dragon Quest XI has been available since 2018 here in the West, for the PlayStation 4 and Steam, the definitive edition of the game has been a Nintendo Switch exclusive until today.
What's more, The Verge also reports that Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age - Definitive Edition is also releasing for the PlayStation 4 and Steam on the same day the game becomes available on Xbox One, Xbox Game Pass, and Windows 10.
