Recently the studios Square Enix and Platinum Games revealed that Final Fantasy XV was going to gift Notic's engine blade to the main protagonist of Nier: Automata, 2B. While some things will be slightly different between how the engine blade functions and operates, and even how it actually looks in Final Fantasy and Nier: Automata, it will display the damage dealt the exact same way it's dealt by Notic in Final Fantasy, and it will have it's very own unique evasion effect.

It's not known what content from Nier: Automata will show up in Final Fantasy, but both studios have agreed that somewhere down the line, content will switch hands. Nier: Automata doesn't have a specific release date, but it will be dropping sometime around the first quarter of 2017. And Final Fantasy XV is going to be released on November 29th.
