Following the reveal of
a new trailer at D23:Expo Japan and the confirmation that
Utada Hikaru would be returning to provide another dazzling opening song,
Kingdom Hearts 3 director Tetsuya Nomura spoke with the Official PlayStation magazine about the franchise's coveted third (main) entry.
While avoiding specific details, Tetsuya confirmed that the Keyblade, Mirage Staff and possibly other weapons will have transformations. Whether these transformations result in power-ups or if they're purely cosmetic remain to be seen.
Tetsuya also stated that the combat in the game would be similar to
Dream Drop Distance and
A Fragmentary Passage.
Kingdom Hearts 3 is slated for release on the XBox One and PS4 later in 2018 but is (worryingly) still without an exact release date.
