Winnie the Pooh and the rest of his friends are returning in
Kingdom Hearts 3. A new trailer for the highly anticipated game was shown during today's X018 event, which makes sense considering this will be the first time
Kingdom Hearts appears on an Xbox console.
The trailer specifically shows off Sora, Donald, and Goofy in the 100 Acre Wood, promising Pooh that they'll always be together - an emotional line considering the premise of the series. Along with confirmation that we'll be returning to the 100 Acre Wood, the trailer also provides additional glimpses of gameplay throughout the other worlds that'll be featured in
Kingdom Hearts 3, including
Tangled, Pirates of the Caribbean, and
Big Hero 6.
Kingdom Hearts 3 is shaping up to to be the biggest game in the series and there will be no shortage of Disney characters you'll have to fight alongside to battle the forces of darkness.

In addition to the trailer, Square Enix's Shinji Hashimoto appeared on stage to discuss some additional gameplay details. Hashimoto revealed there will be numerous mini-games in
Kingdom Hearts 3, specifically mentioning a cooking-based puzzle game based on the animated film
Ratatouille. The 100 Acre Wood will also feature puzzle-based mini-games. And, of course, we'll have the Classic Kingdom mini-games that were released online previously.
Specifically related to the Xbox One, Hashimoto briefly detailed how
Kingdom Hearts 3 will take advantage of the powerful Xbox hardware. For example, the Xbox hardware helps bring to life the roaring waves of the Caribbean Sea in the
Pirates of the Caribbean world. In the CG world of
Big Hero 6, the verticality of the skyscrapers in San Fransokyo - which you can jump from - also utilize the Xbox hardware.
Kingdom Hearts 3 is set to release on January 29, 2019, on Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
