While Lords of the Fallen's sales numbers are not quite as impressive as Insomniac Games' numbers for Spider-Man 2, the team at Hexworks and CI Games still achieved a remarkable feat.

The game's official X (formerly Twitter) account has revealed that Lords of the Fallen has sold 1 million copies in the first 10 days since its release. The team at GameFragger has been covering this title for quite some time so we're pleased to see the action RPG doing well.

The PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X game is actually a sequel/remake of the well-received 2014 title of the same name, which was released on the PS4 and Xbox One.

It picks up 1,000 years after the events of the 2014 game but the developers at Hexworks and CI games were hesitant to directly refer to the game as a sequel as it started out in development as a  complete reboot.

In a press release, CI Games CEO Marek Tyminski stated, "Lords of the Fallen is the most important and ambitious game we’ve developed in our 20-year history, and the first in our new planned AAA pipeline of games in the years ahead. To see this fresh and innovative take on the action-RPG achieve one million sales in just 10 days has been humbling for everybody at Hexworks and CI Games."

Saul Gascon, Head of Studio at Hexworks, added, "Thank you to all the Lampbearers out there who have embarked on their journeys across Mournstead, fearlessly traversing the lands of the living and the dead.  We’re incredibly grateful to the passionate Lords of the Fallen community for their invaluable feedback and ongoing support. It's their unwavering dedication that has made this success possible, and we couldn't be prouder to share it with them."

Lords of the Fallen was released on Windows, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S on October 13, 2023.  The game currently has a composite Metacritic score of 75% from 53 reviews.

After a rough launch (especially on PC), the development team appears to have ironed out the wrinkles with several post-launch updates.

Back in August, Hexworks stated that DLC for Lords of the Fallen was not being planned but if the fanbase raises a loud enough cry for more content, Hexwork will change its plans.

Lords of the Fallen introduces an all-new, epic RPG adventure in a vast, interconnected world more than five times larger than the original game. After an age of the cruellest tyranny, the demon God, Adyr, was finally defeated. But Gods… do not fall forever. Now, aeons later, Adyr’s resurrection draws nigh. As one of the fabled Dark Crusaders, journey through both the realms of the living and the dead in this expansive RPG experience, featuring colossal boss battles, fast challenging combat, thrilling character encounters, and deep, immersive storytelling. Will your legend be one of light… or one of darkness? Dare to Hope..
