While the new N7 Day trailer from Bioware's Mass Effect: Andromeda was certainly visually breathtaking, the lack of actual gameplay footage has left some fans a bit peeved.
In addition to the new trailer,
the Andromeda Initiative recruitment page has also been updated for N7 Day. Apparently Andormeda begins just before the events of Mass Effect 2, with three ark ships set off into deep space to continue the survival of the human race should the Earth fall in the impending Reaper attack. Each of the three ships contain a different alien species represented in the Alliance, with the plan for the ship's inhabitants to awaken 60 years later.
As evidenced in the trailer, it would appear that the Alliance has only exchanged one conflict for another. And unless I'm remiss in my Mass Effect lore, the footage definitely contained what appeared to be a Reaper Husks so perhaps the Alliance didn't entirely escape the grasp of the Reapers after all?
With a release date of Spring 2017, we'll surely learn more details in the coming months.
