Square Enix and Tokyo RPG Factory announced back in February that they were working on a brand-new intellectual property called
Oninaki; a new action role-playing game expected to release for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Steam at some point
this Summer.
Perhaps one of the biggest draws is that
Oninaki is being produced and overseen by Takashi Tokita, who's the man that directed the timeless, and phenomenal
Chrono Trigger — which is something that has fans of the role-playing genre very excited about.
In a recent interview with Takashi Tokita and Atsushi Hashimoto, the Director for
Oninaki, it was revealed that players will be able to use "Demons" during fights. These Daemons will allow the player to give their character other abilities and weapons that they can use at any time during fights.
Today Square Enix has released a new gameplay trailer for
Oninaki, which introduces us to some of the Daemons that players will be able to choose and customise, as well as showing them off in action, so be sure to check the trailer down below:
ONINAKI tells the story of one Watcher on a journey to protect Life, after Death. Players will uncover the mysteries of life, death and what’s beyond as protagonist, Kagachi moving between the Living World and the realm of the dead known as the Beyond.
Oninaki will be available for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Steam in Summer of 2019.
