Announced in March of 2019 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris was revealed to be a role-playing title published by Bandai Namco and developer Aquria; based on Reki Kawahara's Sword Art Online series of manga and anime.
Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris was initially intended to launch in May of this year but, a month before the game would've become available, Bandai Namco announced that they had to push back the release in order to "ensure the best possible launch conditions."
The good news is that the developers only delayed the release for a couple of months, as Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris is now expected to finally hit store shelves next week — on Friday the 10th of July, to be more specific — and it seems that everything is going as planned.
Today Bandai Namco has shared a new trailer for Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris, which gives players a better idea of how the game's strategic combat will work; from skill trees to consumables and multiplayer modes that allows players to team up with up to 4 of their friends to take down enemies
Bandai Namco also reminds players that those who choose to pre-order their copy of Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris will be getting four additional "Design Contest" costumes. Likewise, pre-ordering the Deluxe Edition of the game will grant players 200 SAO coins, Premium Pass for DLC 1 and DLC2, and a Premium Pass costume.
