After the last few years of speculation and leaks, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered has officially launched via a surprise shadow drop earlier in the day right before their stream for the game. The game is available now for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and included with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, the remaster updates the classic 2006 RPG with Unreal Engine 5-powered graphics, gameplay enhancements, and legacy content — while still preserving the soul of the original game.

For fans eager to get more out of their return to Cyrodiil, Bethesda has released a Deluxe Edition that adds exclusive content, including new quests and cosmetic gear.

What’s Included in the Deluxe Edition?

  • Price: $59.99 (or a $9.99 upgrade for base game owners/Game Pass players)

  • New Quests: Unlock unique Akatosh and Mehrunes Dagon-themed Armors, Weapons, and Horse Armor Sets

  • Digital Extras: Includes a Digital Artbook and a Soundtrack App

  • Core Content Also Included:

    • Base game with all visual and gameplay enhancements

    • Shivering Isles and Knights of the Nine story expansions

    • Legacy DLC: Fighter’s Stronghold, Spell Tomes, Vile Lair, Mehrune’s Razor, The Thieves Den, Wizard’s Tower, The Orrery, and Horse Pack Armor

While some fans may be disappointed to see quests locked behind the Deluxe Edition, it’s worth noting the base version ($49.99) already offers a massive amount of content—ranging from a sprawling open world and rich main story, to multiple guild paths and deep side content.

Why This Matters

The surprise launch of Oblivion Remastered demonstrates Bethesda’s confidence in this strategy. If successful, it could open the door to future remasters — including the long-rumored Fallout 3 remake.

For now, Oblivion Remastered is poised to captivate both veterans and new fans, delivering a definitive version of one of the most beloved entries in The Elder Scrolls franchise.

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered modernizes the 2006 Game of the Year with all new stunning visuals and refined gameplay. Explore the vast landscape of Cyrodiil like never before and stop the forces of Oblivion from overtaking the land in one of the greatest RPGs ever from the award-winning Bethesda Game Studios.
