Netflix's adaptation of The Witcher has been controversial thus far - and the series isn't even close to actually releasing yet. The casting of the series caused quite a stir; there were rumors that fan-favourite character of Ciri would be played by a "BAME" actress, Anya Chalotra being cast as Yennefer wasn't met too fondly by fans.
Thankfully, the casting of Henry Cavill as the protagonist Geralt of Rivia was received well. That is until our first look at the Cavill with the iconic white mullet and yellow eyes was revealed - which you can see below. The anticipation of the series can best be described as cautiously optimistic, but according to a producer of the series, fans should be incredible eager to see Cavill as Geralt.
Tomasz Baginski, an award-winning creative producer, recently told Onet Film (via Reddit) that he's "satisfied" with the casting and that "the audience will love him". Answering a follow-up question about just why Cavill is such a good fit for the role, Baginski simply had this to say: "You will see on the screen. Now my lips are sealed. Henry Cavill is a big, strong guy, I will not mess with him."
What do you think about the producer's comments? Are you looking forward to The Witcher Netflix series?
