As many fans of the Mana series know, Seiken Densetsu 3 was never localised outside of Japan — which is actually quite a shame, since the game was released in the mid 90s, and it wouldn't see the light of day here in the West for over 20 years.
Seiken Densetsu 3, only recently renamed to Trials of Mana in the West, was actually localised outside of Japan when the Collection of Mana was released for the Nintendo Switch in June of last year, but the demographic was somewhat limited to Switch owners.
The Trials of Mana remake, however, was just released last week for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC(Steam), broadening the game's demographic. The remake is pretty much the same game, except the developers have changed the game's perspective to a third-person view, and tweaked with some gameplay elements to enhance the experience.
Now that the game has officially released in the West — for the second time, although this time even more official — Square Enix has shared a special message from Mana series producer Masaru Oyamada and Trials of Mana producer Shinichi Tatsuke.
Oyamada and Tatsuke hope that players, both long-time fans and newcomers to the series, will enjoy the recently released title. Tatsuke also reveals that this is particularly special for him, as the Trials of Mana remake is actually the first game in the Mana series that he has produced.
Give it a watch:
