Chaosbane is the very first video game in the critically acclaimed
Warhammer series that basically is a hack'and'slash. The
Diablo-esque action-RPG game (seriously, even the game's key art [seen above] looks like something taken straight from the Blizzard-created universe) is coming to PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on June 4th, so we will definitely learn more about the title in the coming weeks.
Thanks to the Rock Paper Shotgun crew, we can take a closer look at
Warhammer: Chaosbane’s core gameplay mechanics, and judging from the pure footage, it should please those who don't like to play their hack'and'slash's on their smartphones. The video also shows off the three classed that have been revealed (Empire Soldier Konrad, Tank High Elf Mage, and finally Dwarf Slayer Bragi Axebiter).
Their special abilities will be key to defeat various monsters once and for all. For example, Konrad is a close combat specialist, and his mainly melee and area-of-effect based attacks allow him to take on vast hordes of enemies, filling the usual tank role more than nicely.
Chaosbane will also feature drop-in co-op, so be sure to check out this action-packed hybrid between
Diablo and
Warhammer down below:
