Tales of Vesperia is a role-playing game developed by Namco Tales Studio and published by Bandai Namco that came out in 2008 for the Xbox 360 that was later ported to the PlayStation 3. Although Tales of Vesperia was never localised outside of Japan, the game will finally make it to the West in the form of
Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition—coming for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC.
Vesperia is the tenth game in the
Tales of series, which is also developed by the same team that brought us
Tales of Symphonia and
Tales of the Abyss. As a staple to the series, the
Tales of games feature a combat system called Linear Motion Battle System—which drifts away from the classic RPG system of turn-based combat—making fights feel more like a fighting game rather than an RPG—albeit with physical and magical abilities called Artes.
Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition is including more Mystic Artes, more costumes like the Namco, School, and even
Tales of Abyss costumes, as well as featuring brand new battles unique to the Definitive Edition—not to mention updated graphics with upscaled native resolution.
