One of Japan's most beloved RPG franchises, Ys, has been slowly but surely making its presence in the west more prevalent. With the announcement of Ys: Origins finally making its way tot he west, it seemed about time for the game created by Niholm Falcon to bring one of its more recent titles overseas.
Initially released in 2019, in Japan, Ys IX: Monstom Nox is one of the more recent installments that will be coming to the west, not just on PS4 but also Switch and PC! There has also been a confirmed Limited "Pact" edition that will feature two soundtrack CDs, an art booklet and hardcover art book, a reverse cover, a prequel novel, a Crimson King figure, art cards, key chains, and more!
While there is already so much coming for the game, distributor NIS America also launched a brand new character trailer for the game! The trailer features The Crimson King, The White Cat, The Doll, The Raging Bull, The Hawk, The Renegade, and Aprilis.

Renowned adventurer Adol Christin is cursed by a mysterious woman and becomes a Monstrum, a powerful being who can exorcise monsters. To escape from the city of Balduq, he must ally with five other Monstrum, each with their own unique Gifts, and stop the Grimwald Nox, a shadowy dimension that threatens to seep into the real world.
Ys IX: Monstom Nox will release on the PS4 on February 2nd and in the UK on February 5th. The Switch and PC release will arrive in the summer of 2021!
