Time flies, as Saber Interactive's
World War Z, an indirect adaptation of Paramount Pictures’ blockbuster film starring Brad Pitt, will be released for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC (via Epic Games Store) next month. In
World War Z, you play as a survivor who has to make tactical use of traps, barriers and the environment to slow down the hordes of the undead - or just shoot them.
Publisher Focus Home Interactive has released an official developer diary video for
World War Z, diving right into how the upcoming game explores the movie’s iconic images of zombies swarming en masse over anything in their path. According to the developers, they took this inspiration and created totally new characters and storylines true to the universe, building something familiar with a new twist.
World War Z will give a chance not only to outlive the hungry dead through intense four-player co-op campaign missions around the world, but also battle both zombies and real human opponents in competitive, team-based Players vs. Players vs. Zombies (PvPvZ) multiplayer modes.
This fresh zombie game is just around the corner, so be sure to take a look at the dev diary below:
Powered by Saber’s dynamic Swarm Engine, World War Z unleashes hundreds of fast-moving, bloodthirsty zombies at a time on players in a nail-biting action experience around the world, including New York, Moscow, Jerusalem and more. Play in co-op with up to 3 friends using six distinct classes and an arsenal of deadly weapons, explosives, turrets and traps to demolish the undead menace and survive another day.
World War Z launches April 16 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC (via Epic Games Store).
