Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is helmed by Hidetaka Miyazaki, the acclaimed director of
Bloodborne and
Dark Souls III. At its core,
Sekiro is a third-person, action-adventure single-player-only game that puts the player in the role of a hard-hearted warrior (dubbed Sekiro), who is on the mission to rescue his master and exact revenge on his nemesis with his battle-hardened katana and deadly prosthetic arm.
GameInformer’s exclusive coverage of FromSoftware's next big thing (that will be releasing on March 22, 2019 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC) continues, this time giving us a chance to take a look at Hirata Estates, a special area that is technically a flashback, as it takes place three years before the main events, shedding new light on Sekiro's relationship with a character known as the "young lord".
Unfortunately, the relatively short gameplay video is not able to be embedded as it is only viewable via GameInformer’s proprietary video player, so you will have to visit the article (that can be found in the Twitter link down below) to see it. The footage is definitely worth the struggle, confirming that
Sekiro will be far more fast-paced than FromSoftware's previous offerings like
Dark Souls and
Bloodborne.
Carve your own clever path to vengeance in an all-new adventure from developer FromSoftware, creators of the Dark Souls series. In Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice you are the "one-armed wolf", a disgraced and disfigured warrior rescued from the brink of death. Bound to protect a young lord who is the descendant of an ancient bloodline, you become the target of many vicious enemies, including the dangerous Ashina clan. When the young lord is captured, nothing will stop you on a perilous quest to regain your honor, not even death itself.
Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice will launch on March 22, 2019 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
