These days it seems there is a simulation for everything you can think of - most of them even carrying the word in their title. Examples of these are games like Bus Simulator 3, Construction Simulator, Farming Simulator, and, well, you get the idea.

Because there are so many simulation games, with some of them even sharing the same subject matter, it is up to the creators to spice things up to bring attention to what makes their title different. That's precisely what Kabam Games had in mind when introducing their anniversary update.

The update includes pets that can hang out around shops as well as a new dungeon called the Tower of Titans. To discuss the game and the latest updates with us, developer Kabam Games allowed us to catch up with their Associate Game Designer, Frédérik Laporte-Morais. We learned some fun trivia, but go ahead and check out what he had to say for yourself!

Joe: What has been the biggest challenge for Shop Titans over the past year?

Frédérik Laporte-Morais: One of the biggest challenges that we face and will keep meeting in the future is to make sure that every feature and every update that we make is suited for players of all types. We have very different styles of players that are all enjoying Shop Titans in their way, play at various pace, and interact with different features, and we want to make sure that the changes we bring are suitable for all.

Joe: What inspired the pet aspect of the anniversary update?

Frédérik Laporte-Morais: For us, it was kind of a no-brainer. We have a beautiful game, and it just made sense for us to have these cute little companions walk around your shop!

Joe: What games were used as inspiration when putting Shop Titans together in the first place?

Frédérik Laporte-Morais: We drew inspiration from the previous Shop sim games that we developed before, such as Shop Heroes. Otherwise, Dragon Quest was a powerful inspiration for the artistic direction.

Joe: Shop Titans is available both on mobile and PC. Is there one gaming platform that sees a more active community than the other?

Frédérik Laporte-Morais: Shop Titans players can socialize globally and in their guilds. The game is cross-platform, meaning that all enjoy the thriving community.

Joe: Are there more updates coming to Shop Titans in the future?

Frédérik Laporte-Morais: Absolutely! We have many other features planned for the game, notably the Tower of Titans event that we teased recently, a whole new dungeon for players to conquer!

Joe: Is there any fun trivia you can share with us about the game?

Frédérik Laporte-Morais: Tamas, the leatherworker, was inspired by our very own Tamas working here in the Kabam Montreal studio!
