Rumors of a next-gen release for Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order have been swirling around the internet for a while now and today the game's existence has been confirmed. Ahead of Star Wars Day, which is May 4, the official StarWars.com website confirmed the summer release of Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.

Details are limited right now but the next-gen release is said to feature "a number of technical improvements." In all likelihood, the native next-gen upgrade will result in improved visuals and graphics, better frame rates, and faster load times. 

Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order will be released on next-gen this summer with those who already own the game getting a free cross-generation upgrade. A more official announcement with specific details will likely be made on May 4.

In celebration of the announcement and forthcoming Star Wars Day, there's currently a sale on Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order with up to 70% off the Standard and Deluxe Editions of the game for PS4, Xbox One, Origin and Steam.

Developed by Respawn Entertainment, Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order is a single-player action-adventure game It's set five years after the events of Episode III - Revenge of the Sith, and follows young Jedi Padawan Cal Kestis, who becomes a target of the Galactic Empire and is hunted by two Inquisitors. 

The galaxy awaits as Cal Kestis embarks upon an epic journey in hopes of rebuilding the Jedi Order. Fight for your survival, explore the mysteries of a long-extinct civilization, and become a Jedi.

Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order was a refreshing return to the galaxy far, far away and delivered a solid single-player adventure in which players could finally assume the role of a Jedi. EA CEO Andrew Wilson recently teased that a sequel to Jedi Fallen Order is in development.
