Ubisoft has some big plans for
Rainbow Six: Siege and constantly supports the game. We know that the publisher wants to update
Siege at least until 2020 to transform it into a major player at the e-sports scene. Soon,
the Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear (CBRN) Threat Unit will join the game to hopefully save Six from the zombie invasion. Yes, you can't have an FPS without zombies these days.
The first event that will start Year 3, also known as
Operation Chimera, is called
Outbreak. Two new operators from Russia and France are specialists in the biological warfare, so their help should be invaluable against the zombies. The event will last four weeks and will give you a chance to face "
a foe that doesn’t take cover and engages instantly in close combat". Take a closer look:
A few days ago, a mysterious space capsule crashed near Truth or Consequences in New Mexico. It turned out to be carrying an exotic parasite, the Apex, which infected the area and turned the town’s populace into monsters. The Quarantine Zone is the only thing keeping it contained but it will not last for long. If the parasite gets out, it would be a disaster of global proportions. Millions would die. Rainbow’s mission is to enter the devastated town and destroy the parasite’s roots before this happens.
Rainbow Six: Siege - Outbreak will release on March 6.
