Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has been available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC for just over a month's time. The popular first-person shooter has proven to be the most successful instalment in the series in recent years. However, players are still clamouring for more and more new content. Thankfully, Infinity Ward has the playerbase covered.
Today, the studio announced the first season of
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare post-launch content. Season one will reportedly be
"the most ambitious season of content ever," and also
"the biggest free content drop in Call of Duty history." Those are certainly tantalising claims and, based on an official teaser image that has been released, look like they could be accurate.
On December 3rd,
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season 1 will kick off for all platforms. At least seven new maps will be added, included some fan-favourites from
Call of Duty history — those being Crash, Vacant, and Shipment from
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. These will be spread across traditional multiplayer modes, Ground War, and Gunfight.
There's also upwards of five new Special Operations for players to dig into as well as three new multiplayer modes — notably, Infected. A pair of new weapons will also be introduced — which both appear to be assault rifles. Check out the official announcement tweet below (via
