The Creators Of INSIDE And LIMBO Are Officially Working On A New "Fairly Lonely Sci-Fi" Project

Playdead, the developer behind some pretty atmospheric and saddening indie games Inside and Limbo, is now officially at work on its next project. This news comes directly from a recent interview that Jensen gave Danish website ComputerWorld. But before you get hyped, remember to cool your jets as we had to wait nearly six long years after the excellent Limbo to play their next project, Inside.

Our next game is a fairly lonely sci-fi game set somewhere in the bigger universe,” Jensen explained. The title of this new project is a secret for now and it wasn't confirmed if the game will launch on the current-gen systems, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One. But we do know some things about Playdead's next project as the first image from the game was revealed a year ago.

It features a lonely cosmonaut who's traversing a cold planetary surface. It's hard to not compare that image to the wonderful Journey, and knowing the developer's style and attitude, it's understandable to anticipate another dark, mesmerizing adventure. Playdead’s Inside picked up four awards at the BAFTA 2017 awards including artistic achievement, game design, narrative, and original property.
