Yesterday's announcement of the first Beyond Good and Evil 2 livestream cought everybody off-guard. In the first video from the Space Monkey Program series the project's director Michel Ancel, narrative director Gabrielle Shrager and producer Guillaume Brunier explain what BGaE2 is, or rather what it will be at some point in the future.

During over the hour-long livestream the Ubisoft Montpelier team showed off a lot of interesting stuff. We got a glimpse at the variety of animal hybrids living in the game's System 3 and at the vehicles we will have a chance to use in our quest for freedom.

As you might know, Ancel originally planned to make a trilogy around the character of Jade, the first BGaE protagonist. The plans have changed and the upcoming game will serve as a prequel to Jade's adventures, mostly because of the developer's desire to give the players an opportunity to visit the huge world and learn its origins.
