The Total War franchise is a very successful PC top-down strategy game series that lets players take control of some of the most powerful militaries to exist in world history. The most recent entry in the series, Three Kingdoms, is gearing up for a new expansion coming in the form of Eight Princes. In it, the game will jump forward 100 years and allow players to control 8 different princes trying to take control of the Jin dynasty.

While there are 8 new characters, and each of them "adheres to the five core character classes of the base game," they'll each have their own unique campaign mechanics. None of them will be carbon copies of each other, and thus the expansion will help to keep things diversified and different as each Prince can win the war in whatever way he sees fit.
