It look like yet another Ubisoft game is enjoying a nice resurgence after a rather rocky start, as Ubisoft Annecy's
Steep has officially hit 10 million players worldwide. While that achievement is quite impressive on its own, I'd like to remind you that this particular sports video game was available for download on PlayStation Plus in December, which surely boosted the game's overall player count.
Considering that nearly 45 million players have given
Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Siege a chance since its 2015 debut,
Steep is another proof that Ubisoft has truly mastered the "games as a service" approach to designing their titles. As a reminder,
Steep launched on PS4, XO, and PC on December 2, 2016, so it took the winter sports game only a little bit over two years to break the 10-million player mark.
“
I just want to say thank you. Thank you riders from all over the world for joining the Steep community, thank you for helping us improve Steep, day after day, season after season. You make our mountains alive, you make snow keep on falling!” said Creative Director Igor Manceau.
Ubisoft has recently launched a brand new
Steep expansion that was focusing on a series of new ski and snowboard events across the Big Air, SuperPipe, and Slopestyle disciplines, as well as new freestyle challenges scattered across the Alaskan mountains. Take a look at the lastest trailer down below:
Ride a massive open world across the Alps, where the powder is always fresh and the run never ends. Tame the wilderness on the American continent in the Alaska free update, a new region filled with challenges. The mountain is yours to explore. So strap in, suit up, and drop in.
Steep is available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC NOW!
