Mark Wahlberg Confirms That He's No Longer Attached To The UNCHARTED Movie In Any Way

This was probably to be expected, but after being eyed for the role of Nathan Drake a while back, Mark Wahlberg has confirmed that he's no longer attached to the current iteration of Sony's Uncharted movie...

The Uncharted movie has been in the works for what feels like forever, but with a script by Joe Carnahan and Shawn Levy now attached to direct, things are finally looking up for the adaptation of the beloved PlayStation series. One actor's name which has frequently been attached to the project is Transformers: The Last Knight star Mark Wahlberg, but is that still the case? As expected, it isn't.

"As of now, no, I’m not attached," he confirms in the video below. "If I was, you would have heard about it." That's not to say he couldn't still be approached though, especially as the actor is a box office draw. However, the response from fans when his name first emerged was mixed, so perhaps not!

Either way, with production set to begin next year, it hopefully won't be too long until some names start popping up online. Sony could go the unknown route or find a big name (like Michael Fassbender in Assassin's Creed), but the pressure is on for them to get Uncharted right, especially with such a passionate fanbase. Who would you guys like to see play Nathan Drake? Let us know in the usual place.
