Yooka-Laylee is a collectathon game inspired by Rare's popular
Banjo-Kazooie series that were originally released for the Nintendo 64 back in the late 90s. The game even has most of the former developers that worked on
Banjo-Kazooie, making it a spiritual successor through and through.
Team17 and Playtonic are the ones that brought
Yooka-Laylee to life, which was released for all current gen consoles and PC in 2017. The game is still being supported and will soon be getting a new update that will likely make fans happy.
Today, Playtonic has announced that a new free update will be adding an option to give
Yooka-Laylee a graphics downgrade that will make the game look like it came out straight out of the 64-Bit era, giving fans that sip of nostalgia to quench their retro thirst. This free update was not given an official release date but Playtonic did upload a trailer to give us an idea of what the game will look like once the update goes live.
