Astral Chain, PlatinumGames' brand-new intellectual property that borrows elements from NieR: Automata and Bayonetta, will be releasing exclusively for the Nintendo Switch on the 30th of August.

While Astral Chain is still a few weeks away from releasing, PlatinumGames has revealed that Takahisa Taura, the game's director, will be posting new information about the game's gameplay mechanics ahead of its release.

In Mr. Taura's Case Files 01, the game's director tells us that kowning how to control the Legion(some sort of living weapon) is important in Astral Chain, and that by pressing and holding the ZL button players can control it via the Astral Chain link.

In various trailers we've already seen that players have control over the main character and their Legion at the same time, which is what gives Astral Chain an extra layer when it comes to its core gameplay — as players will have to master controlling these two characters at the same time.

Astral Chain is a new action game from PlatinumGames, the creators of the Bayonetta™ series. As part of a police special forces unit in a multi-cultural futuristic city, players work together with a humanoid special weapon, Legion, in a synergetic action system of battle and exploration.

Astral Chain will be available exclusively for the Nintendo Switch on the 30th of August.
