Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit was released about a month ago, and it is a brand-new AR(augmented reality) experience developed by Velan Studios and published by Nintendo, which seeks to give players a brand-new take on the popular Mario Kart series.
For starters, Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit gives players the chance to create their very own courses in their living rooms, and race through them on RC Mario Kart vehicles while using either their Nintendo Switch or their TV screen as the display.
From the get-go, the game sounds like a pretty fun and innovative idea, and that's because it is one. The developers at Velan Studios have managed to make Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit feel exactly like a any other Mario Kart title, starting with the fact that the RC vehicle controls almost exactly like in the games.
Nintendo has recently shared a new video for Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit that will help players come up with some fun little courses to race on — suggesting interesting ways to place the gates that will shape the track; from special gates that can give players the upper hand, to branching paths to add some variety.
Perhaps the most helpful tip found in this video is using gates more than once, and basically using them as one-exit roundabouts, which is a clever way to get the most out of the AR gates without having to purchase any additional ones.
