MARIO KART LIVE: HOME CIRCUIT Price Has Been Revealed By Nintendo; Will Not Include Game Card

Yesterday Nintendo announced Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit, which isn't really a game per se, but a set with RC cars that can be controlled with the Switch, and today we finally know its price.

Yesterday Nintendo surprised us all with a special Nintendo Direct presentation that revealed information about upcoming titles in the Super Mario Bros. series, as they celebrate the 35th anniversary of the heroic princess-saving plumber, and there were a lot of announcements that were legitimately surprising.

What is likely one of the most out of left field announcements made by Nintendo was Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit, which is a an augmented reality game that includes an Mario Kart-themed RC car with an integrated camera, and a set of gates that will allow players to build their own Mario Kart tracks at home while using the Switch as both controller and screen.

In short, it's basically a toy that gives players the chance to build their own Mario Kart tracks, and race real karts around their house — which is one of the many bright ideas Nintendo has had, as well as one of the most innovative ones since Nintendo LABO

Since Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit includes an RC car with an integrated camera that can be controlled with the Nintendo Switch, players wondered how much this new toy would end up costing them, especially since the game seems to work almost exactly like a proper Mario Kart title.

As it turns out, the price has already been revealed, and it will cost a total of £100, which approximately amounts to $130 USD. Each set includes the RC cart, four gates, a USB cable, and two arrow markers — which allow players to build a Mario Kart track, and race in it; not too expensive, all things considered.

Thanks to the keen-eyed lads at Nintendo Life, we have also found out that Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit, unlike Nintendo LABO, will not be including a game card at all; instead, the pertaining software will have to be downloaded from the eShop.

With that said, it seems like the software itself will be available to download for free; of course, you still need to pay full price for the Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit set any way, and add in an extra set if you want to play the game with players.

Race a real-world Mario Kart™ through your home! Use the Nintendo Switch™ system to control your kart and watch as it reacts to what’s happening in the game as you boost and drift to victory. Your in-home course comes to life on-screen with a view from right behind the driver’s seat.

Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit is expected to release on Friday the 16th of October.
