Metroid: Samus Returns is an action-packed, side-scrolling shooter that has been reimagined for the Nintendo 3DS to include engaging and immersive 3D visuals, as well as, a rich and atmospheric colour palette.
Mercury Stream have buffed Samus with new abilities such as the ability to melee counter enemies, which allows her to strike enemies with critical hits and full-range of motion aiming for precise shooting.
New to Metroid are ‘Aeion abilities’, where Samus has different, limited abilities reliant on an energy bar; these abilities are separate from suit upgrades that are found throughout the game. The ‘Aeion Gauge’ also depletes as you are hit by enemies, forcing you to battle enemies rather than just running by them and accepting their attacks.
Metroid: Samus Returns will launch on the Nintendo 3DS on September 15
th.
A special edition will, also, be available with a reversible cover and a soundtrack called the ‘Samus Archives’ which includes 25 iconic tracks from the Metroid franchise.
