Despite not having sold well, the Nintendo Wii had quite a few gems released on it. One of those being
Kirby's Epic Yarn, the first entry in the
Kirby series on a home console since 2003.
Adopting Nintendo's handcrafted look for games, the well-received game transported
Kirby into a world made of cloth and yarn
"to unravel enemies, unzip secret passageways and transform into powerful vehicles." Now Nintendo is bringing the critically acclaimed to its Nintendo 3DS handheld system.
Re-released as
Kirby's Extra Epic Yarn, the 3DS version will feature some improvements and new features over the original. New to the 3DS version is Ravel Abilities, unique ways to power-up Kirby such as crafting bigger yarn balls and creating a wire sword that can slice through anything. The Nylon ability summons powerful wind to allow Kirby to jump higher and collect beads.
In addition to the new Ravel Abilities,
Kirby's Extra Epic Yarn will offer new mini-games featuring King Dedede and Meta Knight, new furniture to decorate Kirby's Pad with, and a new Devilish Mode for those seeking added challenges to each stage.
Kirby's Extra Epic Yarn will release for Nintendo 3DS on March 8, 2019.
