Announced in February's Nintendo Direct,
Super Mario Maker 2 is the long-awaited sequel to the critically acclaimed
Super Mario Maker, which was released in 2015 for the
Super Mario Bros. series' 30th anniversary.
With a simple premise,
Super Mario Maker became one of, if not, the best games on the commercial flop that was the Nintendo Wii U, as one of the only titles that made full use of the system's Gamepad controller.
While
Super Mario Maker is a great title in its own right, fans were constantly asking for the developers to add new features; such is the case of the infamous slides, which are now finally being introduced in
Super Mario Maker 2, among a plethora of other new features that players are looking forward to see.
Today, Nintendo has announced that they will be streaming a 15-minute-long
Super Mario Maker 2 Direct presentation, which will likely focus on all of the brand-new features that are being introduced into the game. The presentation will stream tomorrow, on the
15th of May, at
3:00 PM Pacific Time/ 6:00 PM Eastern Time.
In this new game, a sequel to the original Wii U™ game, players can create the Super Mario courses of their dreams, with access to even more tools, items and features, including the new ability to create slopes for the first time.
Super Mario Maker 2 will be available exclusively for the Nintendo Switch on the 28th of June.
