Nintendo Switch Sales Are Off To A Good Start In The US

There has been some concern about the Nintendo Switch's relatively sparse launch line-up, but that hasn't stopped the console from selling well now it's available in the US. Hit the jump for the latest figures.

The Nintendo Switch is now available in the US and sales are off to an excellent start for the company if early numbers are any indication. In fact, Nintendo of America head Reggie Fils-Aime has revealed that the first two days of sales have eclipsed any other Nintendo system released in the country (including the massively popular Wii).

Interestingly, Fils-Aime also confirmed that The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has become the best-selling standalone launch title in Nintendo history, beating even Super Mario 64

It's still early days, of course, so it remains to be seen whether or not the Switch will have the same long-term appeal as the Wii. That sold over 100 million units worldwide, so this new console has a long way to go before reaching numbers like that! Things are looking good, though, and more details on the sales figures can be found below.
