A couple of days ago, Nintendo rolled out update Ver.10.0.0 for the Nintendo Switch, which added button-mapping, a much-needed new way to transfer data between the system memory and SD cards, and the usual changes that improve the console's stability.
While the update did add some interesting features, it seems that Nintendo didn't disclose everything that this new firmware was bringing with it, as a new report seemingly reveals that Nintendo may have a rather interesting card up their sleeve.
According to new information shared by reverse engineer Mike Heskin, update Ver. 10.0.0 is also adding support for something called "nx-abcd," which seems to be a new hardware model.
It gets even better, as there is also evidence suggesting that a secondary display will be added to this brand-new Nintendo Switch model; if that were the case, it could be quite the game changer.
About a year ago, there was a rumour suggested that Nintendo was working on two revised versions of their popular handheld hybrid console; a bugdet console that eventually became the Nintendo Switch Lite, and a "Pro" version that was never confirmed.
This new information reveals that this new hardware model would be implementing a secondary display, and our mind goes straight to a Pro version that could possibly become a dual-screen Nintendo Switch like the insanely popular Nintendo DS — which actually sounds like a natural progression.
We'll have to wait until Nintendo reveals official information about this new "nx-abcd" model. Regardless, this is some very exciting news, and we can't wait for Nintendo to unveil this mysterious new console/model.
