Mario Tennis Aces is the next entry in the Mario Tennis series and it looks to be shaping up nicely. And that is great news, especially after the huge disappointment that was Mario Tennis Ultra Smash on the Wii U.

The new game will introduce new mechanics that will make for a better experience during the tennis matches. Techniques like the Zone Shot allows players to aim where they want their shot to go, or the Zone Speed that will slow down time for players to rechase down quick shots and perform other incredible feats.

Now, the official Nintendo Treehouse Log has shared new details about All-Around characters like Mario, Luigi and Daisy, and Technical characters like Peach and Toadette.

All-Around Characters:

"This character type is a great one to start with and master, since they have no glaring weaknesses: their shots are solid and their speed is good, allowing them to traverse the court proficiently."

Technical Characters

"Technical characters in Mario Tennis Aces include Peach and Toadette. Both of these characters have excellent ball control, are able to easily hit to the far corners of the court, have great footwork, and look fabulous in pink."

"Technical characters are great for hitting the ball juuuust out of reach of your opponents, particularly once you have gotten a read on how your opponent tends to move. Their Zone Shots and Special Shots may not be as fast as those of some other character types, but they certainly make those standard shots count."

By the looks of it, the types of characters will not be changed too much in regards to previous iterations of the game but it is still interesting to see what players will be able to do with the new techniques added to the game as they pick some of their favourite characters from the Mario series and challenge their friends locally or online.

Mario Tennis Aces will be available exclusively for the Nintendo Switch on the 22nd of June.
