Developer and publisher CyberStep has announced the release date for the Nintendo Switch version of the action mmorpg Onigiri. The game will hit the Nintendo Switch on January 31st and will also release a Steam version on February. The company has launched an English website.

The title will be freet-to-play and will have the option for cross-platform play. Nintendo Switch players can enjoy the game with their buddies over at a PlayStation 4, Xbox One and/or PC. Players that buy the game before April 16 will get bonus in-game items but it has not been specified what these incentives are.

The game originally hit Japan on February 2014 and later launched in North America on July 2014. The game inspired a television anime series animated by studio Pierrot+. Takashi Yamamoto directed it, TAkamitsu Kouno wrote the script and Sentai Filmworks holds the North American license. The serie ran from April 2016 to June 2016 and has 13 episodes.

Onigiri is an anime themed 3D action MMORPG set in a fantasy world inspired by medieval Japanese mythology. Swap between weapons with different stats and skills as you clear instanced dungeons guarded by powerful bosses.
