Pokémon Let's Go, Pikachu! and
Pokémon Let's Go, Eevee! were released a couple of days ago, taking fans of the series back to the Kanto region for a new adventure that they can take anywhere they go on their Nintendo Switch systems.
These new
Pokémon games are actually a remaster/remake of the classic
Pokémon Yellow Special Pikachu Edition, which was a slightly different version of the
Red,
Green, and
Blue versions of the original game; with the difference that the starter Pokémon was a Pikachu that would follow players around instead of being in its Pokéball.
Being a remaster/remake of
Pokémon Yellow, Nintendo and developer Game Freak saw the perfect opportunity to cater to nostalgia by having the launch trailer for
Pokémon Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee! feature the classic theme song from the TV show. But the similarities didn't stop there, as the people over at IGN noticed that the new trailer not only uses the original theme song but it also recreates the TV show's intro almost to a T—by using shots from the game that mimic those seen in the nostalgic intro.
